    Marty (and crew):

I have a two year old intact male (to be castrated in the very near future) who is the worst behaved llama when it comes to shearing ( I refuse to tie down or place my animals in a chute). Well, over the last two weeks and 10 hours of desensitization and massaging, he "allowed me" to shear his thorax (sides) to just in front of his rear legs ... he just stood there and did not move and I did not even have the lead rope in my hand!! Touch, Touch and Touch your llamas - eventually they will like it. I was considering chemical restraint until today. I do have more shearing to do on him but I am convinced the Touch is KEY.

Thanks again - I have a new item in my colander!
