Hi, I have got till Wednesday to have a plan of action . I am a new alpaca owner ( both animals at livery - my fencig is being finished in 2 weeks - I have 9 acres, 5 horses). I do have 2 acre paddocks thoough, and they are alpaca safe. My first cria had a little girl - all well, and she is at a farm down south. My second girl, has just had a large female cria today. Long labour, She was eventually helped by the agistors. Since then she ahs not allowed the cria near her, and if they have held the mum , and tried to put the cria to her, she has just cushed down , not allowed her to feed. She has had plasma, and they are bottle feeding. If she doest start, I will be bringing both up to my place on wednesday, so I can carry on. \ I have read the thread on raising rejected cria - and am aware to limit contact etc. Would the soft toy idea etc work at day 5? Hadnt planned to have them home till september - but thats animals! Hilary
