I have a female alpaca who was bred on Aug 7, 2012 and then again on August 21, 2012. She was very receptive both times. We spit-tested again two weeks later (Sept 4/12). She was not receptive and therefore not rebred. If she became pregnant during the second breeding, 340 days would make her due on July 27th. This will be her 5th cria and her previous gestation periods have been 345, 356, 352, and 356 days which could make her due date the beginning of August. She is absolutely huge and I'm wondering if she could have become pregnant on her first breeding and therefore, using a 340 day calculation, is due on July 13th. Is it possible to be pregnant and be receptive to a re-breeding two weeks later?
