    Hi Marty and all!

This is our first summer with the guys and while we thought we had enough pasture space for them, it seems like we can't keep the grass growing fast enough.

We are portioning out the field and adding new spaces for them but it seems as soon as they get on it, the grass gets eaten down to a place that it isn't growing back. We are giving them lots of hay to supplement but I'm wondering if there are other options and what are best practices for pasture maintenance. How much space really is needed per alpaca? We have 4.

Also, are there any suggestions to hardening pasture areas that are high traffic? For example, in front of their barn? It has gotten really muddy and we are raking each day but it still stays pretty wet even when dry out. I attached a photo.

    Thank you very much.
