The following photo is from a breeder on social media. This way of "training" alpacas is very common in Australia too. What would be the pros/cons of haltering and attaching the alpacas to a wall? The breeder who posted this photo said that's how they halter train - they keep the weanlings attached for 10-15 minutes daily. I think this takes away the alpaca's willingness to participate in the process, it's forceful, could hurt them if they pull, and doesn't give the alpaca an option to say "no". But I wonder why it's so popular as a training method and why it would work ?
