What is TTEAM?
TTEAM stands for the Tellington Touch Every Animal Method developed by Linda Tellington-Jones. Linda is one of the most respected animal teachers in the world who has been competing, winning and training in the horse world for more than 35 years.
Her work with horses is so innovative and successful that Marty McGee Bennett translated and adapted her method for camelids.
Marty recently updated her TTEAM and the TTouch credentials by attending Linda Tellington-Jones' Advanced Training for work with companion animals in Kona, Hawaii. At this Advanced Training, Marty refined her TTEAM and TTOUCH knowledge while learning lots of new concepts. It was at this event that Marty was honored by Linda's designation as The Camelid Instructor for TTEAM and the TTouch.
TTEAM is a holistic approach to training and teaching animals. The teacher seeks to understand the llama/alpaca on many levels- physical, mental, behavioral and emotional.
TTEAM offers a way of reeducating problem llamas/alpacas as well as a way to start young animals so that they do not develop problems.
This method features a very unique system of body work-the TTouch (Tellington-Touch)-that is both easy to learn and very profound. The TTouch helps a llama focus and learn to trust the touch as well as proximity of humans.
Learning the touch will give you a way to calm nervous animals and forge an immediate bond that enhances both the training process and the relationship you have with your llama.
Marty was introduced to Linda and her work in 1987. Over the years, Marty has developed ways to apply this proven approach to animal handling and training specifically to camelids. Marty's understanding and application of TTEAM to llamas and alpacas has evolved into CAMELIDynamics which is based on and features the important techniques and tools of TTEAM.
